Bidra med feedbackWe do not order a ton of take out in my home. when i want food from outside I want the whole dining experience. We used to go to the Le Chinois that has been gone for a lot of years downtown Hamilton. There are only 2 choices now. If you want to eat in ,you go to Burlington Silver city mall but for just take out you go to mall road near Lime Ridge mall. Atmosphere- Take out so it is just a counter really with very friendly people filling orders non stop. Food- We order the same dishes all the time. If you want a great meal this is it: 1) Orange Beef- Tangy and tender. it is sweet with a bit of heat. all meat) 2) Le Chinois chicken- breaded chicken in a sweet and sour sauce cooked with chunks of cucumber. when i first saw this dish i thought cucumber was an odd choice but i enjoy the crunch with this dish. Ask for a little extra sauce for this dish. sometimes when it is take out 9 compared to old downtown way the chicken can soak up the sauce) 3) Le Chinois special- This is a ktichen sink kind of dish- pork, shrimp, chicken, beef, imitation crab, and a ton of vegetables. The combination is excellent. 4) moo shoo pork- This is a dish you have to assemble in your home. A crepe with the pork and veggie mixture with hoison sauce gets wrapped and topped with more hoisin sauce. Yum. ask for extra hoisin sauce if you dont have any at home. 5) cheese rangoon- Back in the day downtown these were filled with crab but now they are only filled with cream cheese. Deep fried wontons served with sweet and sour sauce. My daughter loves these. 6) special fried rice- Their rice is special. i dont know if they use butter to fry it in but it is fabulous and filled with good stuff. Service- You get 10% off if you pay cash. Impression- We have been eating Le chinois for years and we wont be stopping any time soon.
I would highly recommend Le Chinois. It was a family lover of my household. I wish they would bring back lunch specialties. I'd go there for a week.
I picked up a family dinner this week. Among the seven dishes were the old standards of orange beef and string beans with hot garlic meat sauce, the latter especially tangie. The almond chicken and the beef with mushrooms had good flavors, while the chops Suey, noodle... and rice dishes were standard tea. There were no soya sauce packages this time, just a small container of it. Pickup was on time, always a good thing. I like to arrive a few minutes early as the warming lights only do so much. There is a 10% discount for cash. The container dishes are good for every number of applications later.
My family doesn't order Chinese food often but after eating here we might! The spring rolls were HUGE and fresh. The dish Chinois Special was our favorite the flavour was incredible. Fried Won tons have seasoned meat we weren't used to this and wasn't on...the menu we were expecting empty ones. Rice has a bit of stickiness like traditional rice. Cantonese noodle dishes great. The vegetables in both vdgetable chop suey and chow meins were perfectly cooked. Not to mention the shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly cooked! That was most impressive we will definitely order again.
Just had take-out dinner, it was great. Wontons for an app, Mongolian Beef, Pork Fried Rice and Honey Chicken, all really excellent. The Mongolian beef was really tasty. Since our ‘local’ place has closed we will make this out new spot for Chinese.
