In 1983 the founder, Jimmy, had two options after high school head to the military or open a business. He opted for sandwiches, and in January of 1983, the first Jimmy John's was opened in the college town of Charleston, IL. The menu consisted of four sandwiches, made just like they are today with hand sliced meats and always fresh baked bread. They launched our menu with 4 sandwiches smoked ham and provolone, hand sliced turkey, homemade tuna salad and capicola salami. From there, we've built our menu to 18 different sandwich offerings, using a combination of the above and a few new additions, like medium rare roast beef and applewood smoked bacon.
Great food but better service. The signs on the walls are funny and inspirational.
My family and I dine here frequently, and the quality is consistently excellent. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy helping and taking care of their guests. I find myself eating here every day!
The sandwiches are simple, but for some reason, I find them amazing. The bread is quite good, and the service is fast; it doesn’t take long to reach the end of the counter to get your sandwich. It's quick, easy, and laid-back. I've been coming here since they first opened.
I tried this restaurant for the first time, and it was fantastic! The place is very clean, and you can frequently see the staff tidying up. The menu is simple, but perfect for a quick bite, and the staff are polite and patient, especially if you're unsure about what to order. I'm definitely coming back!
