Match Eatery Public House Hanover

We got takeout as we were passing through on the way back from a cottage and needed food. This isn't their normal option I'm sure, given where they are located. This, food might be better if you ate inside. Menu was exciting and had some neat options. We got poutine and the two fish taco options as well as a burger. Poutine was ok as was the burger. Fish tacos were dry and really just hunks of spiced or breaded fish (depending on which kind you are) that tasted a bit fishy (never a good sign) and were really dry. Not really any toppings on them to speak of, which wasn't what I expected based on the menu description. That was a regret. Maybe stick to bar food and drinks if you eat here.

One of the better spots to eat in Hanover. Tucked away and often forgotten, it offers a nice patio and good food/drinks.

Wow, the new wings at Match are excellent, they are bigger and if anyone has had wings from the Pearl in Tiverton, these are a pretty close second and that is not a bad thing!!! Great atmosphere and great deals on food and drinks!!! I will definitely be back!!! Thanks again!! Zeke

Fantastic food and service, great night out of fun and exciting games and live music. The food is absolutely the best in Hanover Ontario

Although service and management has always been good, be aware they have changed the menu. Their Saturday night special, which is listed as a 8oz sirloin steak, and has always been a good thick cut, has been swapped for what seems to be a striploin at 6 ozs, and more for a sandwich, not a steak dinner. (Was 1cm thick)Yet charge 32$ for it. Was very disappointed in the food. Vegetables were crunchy both brussel sprouts and carrots, potatoes were cold, and cornbread was uncooked in the middle. Now for the second dinner of ribs, which we have had better from the frozen boxed ribs from the grocery store. Sauce was bland, and couldn't cut meat off the bone. Saving grace was the toffee pudding for dessert, but the strawberry shortcake was not worth the money either.
