Republic - Harker Heights

This is likely the best laid-back bar we've discovered in the past three years.

The menu features everything from hearty cheesesteak sandwiches to delicious French toast, and the drink selection is impressive. They offer a unique Texas-themed drink menu featuring locally made spirits, as well as popular beers (both on tap and in bottles) and wine! The owner exudes a warm and welcoming Texas vibe, and the staff is just as friendly, complete with an entertaining DJ. For smokers, there’s a designated smoking area on the back terrace, which is a major plus compared to other nearby bars where you'll find yourself smelling like an ashtray within minutes of entering—a personal deal breaker for me. Additionally, they have karaoke, billiards, and ample seating, not to mention a very lovely ladies' room, as I was informed. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to relax and have a good time!
