Bidra med feedbackI'd never been a fan of Indian cuisine due to the intense use of spices. I could not stand the curry smell, let alone eating it. Surprisingly, my visit to Haveli turned out to be enjoyable. Being a vegetarian almost his whole life, my Indian buddy ordered most of non-meat dishes for me to try. I love the taste of palak paneer, North Indian spinach curry with cottage cheese. The butter naan, oven baked flatbread, further enhanced its flavour. We also had biryani, stir fried rice with vegetables. I was guided to eat it with dal tarka, a comfort soup made of lentils, just like how my buddy's mother served it. To complete my meal, he let me try pani puri, a common street snack in India. The hollow crispy ball is filled with different wonders, potato, chickpea, coriander, and a special green sauce, which created an interesting taste in my mouth.
Again situated close to harris park this Indian restaurant serves a variety of dishes. Got a takeaway so can't comment on the dining experience. Ordered chicken methi and Palak paneer. Both dishes were oily but the chicken had more salt otherwise it seemed fine. Palak paneer was good. Quantity wise it was good. Pricing is ok here only the quality of food needs to be better. Might try few dishes in the future.
I went to this place yesterday by fluke. It was my first visit ever to this dimly lit restaurant . Took this squishy corner seat and having sat for more than 10 min I somehow thought it wise to stAnd up like a school kid n literally call out for help / service or whatever you may call it . I noticed that many a times the waiting staff would cast a blank look n shy away from serving . Anyway I got the menu n ordered my food . Waited for more than 10 min n finally got my meal .the food tasted awful and the bread was painful burnt leaving a profound bitter after taste . I took few nibbles and decided to order another decent one. The lady who took my order , perhaps ,didn't care much so it was another indefinite wait. So having waited for another 10 min for just one roti I couldn't check my tolerance , walked up to the counter to enquire and it was found out that they actually didn't know about it .. Well I couldn't stand this disgrace n so cancelled my order. The lady with straight long hair beautifully adorned who impressed me as a useless manager didn't ever bother apologizing . She was rudely ordering her staff to cancel the last roti order and charge me accordingly ..well that's all about it. The last time I meted this was at that infamous GINGER restaurant which I have never visited again . So another to name to thst disgraceful list of Indian restaurant .. People hospitality counts and I strongly hate cheap and awful attitude . No thanks to haveli again

I heard that this place is good and decided to give it a shot being an indian foodie. But I was greatly dissapointed. The service was very bad. There was no one looking after the service as probably they were having a private party in one of their secluded areas. The food that was served was cold and bland. The mix chat lacked masalas and was just a dump of papdi, poori and curd with no taste. The aloo tikki was very cold and it was pre-cooked. It was just microwaved and served with lots of curd. Also it was very chewwy. Even after returning it once the second one was similarly aweful. Also there were no tissues, spoon or plates provided. We had to ask for every little thing.
