Caribbean Food (arepera Las Chamas)

This food is SO good! It's totally authentic Venezuelan cuisine at a really reasonable price. The servings are big so you definitely get your money's worth. Feels like a real home made meal.

I've been coming here since they opened and I love it! The food is Caribbean food from a Venezuelan perspective, so it's a little different than what I'm used to. It's still delicious. You get a lot for your money.

This is the type of restaurant we didn't know we were looking for. The owner is hands on being the chef and server today. I've never had venezualian food and enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend the hot sauce. Usually we only eat at a place 1x during a vacation but we want to return for more.

Food was authentic and amazing! The plantains were super delicious. The sauces complimented the food and the hot sauce was flavorful. Great experience. Portions were big too. Check it out if you have never been.

EDIT: Maria, the owner of Las Chamas, sold the business and under new ownership the place is now called Latin's Flavor. The new place still has many of Maria's recipes, with a whole side of the menu consisting of her Venezuelan and Caribbean food. They still have the sauces, although the orange spicy sauce is completely different, the white and green are both very similar. The arepas are very close, and though they don't have what I used to order on the menu, they were able to make it. Very close, not the same. Sorry to see Las Chamas go, I'd take it over all the hipster places that can't figure out what they're doing. ORIGINAL: Las Chamas is always fantastic. I usually go for arepas, especially pabellon criollo, an amazing arepa filled with black beans, stewed beef, and sweet plantain. There are three table sauces that are delicious enough that they would make shoe leather edible. They have a decent beer selection with good prices. The owner is really nice and does a lot of the cooking, I'm happy to have seen her succeed here. I've eaten most of the menu over the years, I haven't had anything that I didn't enjoy.
