The Chequers - Hart

Attended for a work meeting, lovely coffee but so incredibly dark! We struggled to write on our notepads as it was raining heavily outside and very little light inside. We would probably only visit again during the summer, as the interior just felt miserable with the dim lighting. As noted in a prior review, the place needs additional lighting.

Popped in for a Saturday lunch , wanted sandwich, panini or something similar sadly nothing like that on offer just big meals or chips as it was early we didn’t want a large meal so just had a drink and left. As I said it was early so it was empty and it was very dark , as it was raining I think they could have put some lights on to try and give some atmosphere . Sadly won’t return on a weekend

One of our favourite places to eat and to recommend to friends. Delicious food and excellent service. Sea bream cooked to perfection fries crunchy and sticky toffee pudding to die for.

You know it’s a nice pub when you see locals with dogs in there. We visited for brunch and it was delicious, hot and freshly cooked. Lovely coffee too.

A bit grimey, food was tired looking and poor tasting, wine was off and they didn’t seem to think they needed to open a fresh bottle. The experience did not match the high prices. Disappointing.
