Azuma Sushi - Hartsdale

This restaurant offers excellent value and incredibly fresh sashimi. I really appreciate the chef's technique with the fish; they age it and pair it with various spices and herbs. The grandmakase is around $50 and includes 16 pieces along with one toro sushi roll, making it a fantastic deal.

I recently dined in and got some takeout from this restaurant, and I can confidently say they serve some of the BEST sushi I've ever tasted. As someone who was born and raised in Japan, I can vouch for the authenticity of their dishes. If you're looking for "rainbow sushi" or any Asian fusion options, this isn't the place for you. The sushi here is truly traditional. I also feel their prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I highly recommend Azuma Sushi to any genuine sushi lovers out there!

Having spent considerable time in Japan, I can confidently say that this dining experience comes as close as possible to genuine Japanese cuisine. The freshness and flavors are perfect in every aspect. It was a relaxing meal, just as sushi and sashimi are meant to be.

Unfortunately, they are now permanently closed, the owner died. There is a rental sign in the window. The phone's off. Open since 1983. Says anything. There are sushi only prepared with some of the best and presented sushi I had. The place is immaculately clean the waiting item a friendly, attentive and efficient. If you hear the gentleman at the door welcome customers, you know that he has many regular customers that it. I'm just a recurring customer who enjoys the excellent sushi.

Have been going here for around 10 years and have to say that it is honestly one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I am somebody who travels regularly to Japan for business. The food is obviously better in Tokyo, but for a Japanese restaurant in the US I can’t think of many that are better at the price point.Excellent quality, great owner named Tony, great server named Pablo, and just a nice overall place. Decor is nothing special but that’s not why you go here. They treat our young son very well. Very traditional Japanese food, the way it should be. Less sugary and savory sauce is smothered on the food then you get in most places these days. Thank God for that.
