New Sogo Chinese - Hartselle

The food is usually very good, but was bland and no good tonight

Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience at Sogo. We ordered three different dishes: orange chicken, General Tso's chicken, and beef with broccoli. The beef had a slimy texture, and the two chicken dishes were almost indistinguishable, both having a soupy consistency. The most frustrating part was that the rice was crunchy—rice should never be served this way. While the portion sizes were generous, we would much rather have quality over quantity. If you're in town, I would recommend skipping this restaurant. The only reason I gave it two stars is that the fortune cookie was enjoyable, with a nice hint of vanilla.

Despite being very busy with takeout orders, our food was served quickly and tasted amazing.

The service was very unfriendly and rude, and the establishment was not clean at all. My experience was quite disappointing, and I do not intend to return. It seems the restaurant has changed ownership multiple times, and currently, it appears that one woman is trying to manage everything by herself. Unfortunately, this has resulted in her taking out her stress and lack of sleep on the customers. She really needs assistance or should consider selling the business.

I ordered a few times in January 2018. The food is excellent and freshly prepared. The service is always friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable.
