Bidra med feedbackWild heart has terrific food. Our typical is the OG Smash Burger and the Centennial Pizza. The burger has terrific beefy flavor and is obviously very fresh. The pizza has honey and Calabrian chili sauce on it and is wonderful.
I had heard great things about this place and was honestly really excited to try it. Unfortunately, my husband and I sat at our table for 15 minutes without someone even coming up to get our drink order (it was before 5pm, too). We ended up leaving, and probably won't return.
Had a burger and the drunken collards and they were good. All of the other food looked appetizing. Had their hazy IPA and it was solid.
Namesake IPA was very tasty. Burger is plus average. The atmosphere was fantastic so that and the beer make up most of the stars. The food was good too but here is what you need to make it better for your visit. If you love collard greens don't order them here. They need more fat and salt. The pizza crust was great but the cheese to sauce ratio is way off. Add more sauce and less cheese.
An amazing brewery off the beaten track in Hartsville, SC, that punches far above its class. Perhaps the cleanest, crispest brews in the southeast, maybe the entire east coast. Maybe even the Midwest and west coast?!?I’m serious. Straightforward, honest brews including Lakeshore Light lager (5%ABV), Morning Song Japanese Rice lager (4.6%ABV), Namesake Hazy IPA (6.9%ABV), and seasonal Oktoberfest (5.8%ABV) that literally make you look at the (bespoke) glassware and wonder “is this beer really this insanely good?!” Oh, and don’t get me started on the food…handcrafted pizza from a genuine, Italian, wood fired oven, miso and chile pepper encrusted chicken wings as only a true southern restaurant can pull off, salads with local farm greens….amazing. Staff is courteous and caring. Atmosphere is casual and welcoming with a wide concrete bar, open kitchen, as well as indoor tables and ample outdoor seating. This is what “small town south” is all about. Did I mention that the 16 oz. pours average $6.50? What more can you ask for in 2023? Wild Heart Brewery is 100% worth the trip. I was going to give it 4 stars but then I couldn’t think of another local craft brewery (Burial in Asheville, Trillium in Boston) or mega brewery (New Belgium, Sierra Nevada) that was a better overall experience. 5 stars, emphatically!
