Bidra med feedbackGreat diner where all the food is good! I did not know they were cooking chicken and dumplings and had something else. Billy has taken his ancestors diner and kept is going with style! The service is great and the food that Misty cook on the grill or what Billy cooks in the back is excellent!
The food and service are still great; the only thing missing was Billy.
The food is great ,the prices are excellent. The owner seems good but the two servers are racist as hell. I'm at the table with 3 others that happens to be white. Not once did she ask me did I want a refill. I've been several times and my order is always taken last no matter where I sit. I even asked for a refill once and she never came back to do it.
This is not your place if you are a snob. This is greasy, good, and a tradition. It is what it is, and it is pretty darn good at it, and good.Haters, go away.
A Hattiesburg Landmark. My first memories of Coney Island are from more than 30 years ago when my dad used to take me there for Cheese Dogs. Open in the same location since 1926, Coney Island in Hattiesburg is much more than a diner or sandwich shop, it's an institution. There used to be half a dozen or more of these places in downtown Hattiesburg. Most made it to the 70's or 80's then faded away. But, Coney Island is still here and has changed very little in the last 30 years and I imagine very little in the last 70 years.<br/ <br/ Today for I had two cheese dogs, and an order of their hand cut curly fries. A cheese dog is a hotdog with chilli, chese, raw onions, mustard and pickles. They were as good as ever and the staff was great. The fries were crisp and not too greasy and the memories flooded back from a time gone by....in many ways a trip to Coney Island is a trip back in time.
