La Mexicana Taqueria - Hattiesburg

Landed in the restaurant yesterday and had the worst Mexican food I ever had. No taste, terrible overboiled, poorest quality meat, chips were terrible. The service was good? Toilets were in terrible condition couldn't even wash my hands.

Best authentic Mexican food in Hattiesburg hands down! Love the street tacos I always get the al pastor and sometimes the barbacoa. I will say their service is not the best in the world but that's not why I come, I here for real tacos! I always order in person and sit at the bar and have a beer while I wait and the beer is always ice cold and refreshing.

I am in Hattiesburg for a few days for work. I didn't think I would find authentic tacos here. I was wrong. Mine were good. My husband's order was messed up. Cold. Service...it's really lack of service. Nobody checks back on you.

I would not recommend going to this location. The queso was water. The frozen margaritas were liquid instead of frozen. The queso comes in a small one person serving. I was afraid to eat the chips. My burrito had no real flavor. I'm from Texas and I was looking forward to eating here but I was disappointed. The horchata was good. Fun fact: They don't serve enchiladas.

Authentic cuisine that is so delicious that it will become your local stop. Can't wait to try the tamales next time because they were out.....which is an good indicator; waitress checked with the chef will have some Thursday!
