Angelos - Hawkins

A small restaurant with authentic Italian dishes. The owner and the staff are very personal and welcoming and make you feel like family. I was remembered the first time. Often I will not let him surprise him with a fish even on the menu and I was never disappointed. To say that I wish it were more of them an understatement, what is more I wish that this type of service was more common these days. Stay here if you get the chance.

The best authentic Italian I have ever had. Angelo is an incredible chef and he takes a personal interest in his customers. We have been going for several months now and he knows our taste and makes us custom creations. Every time is new and incredible.

Love their baked ziti and their breads are awesome! Angelo is an accomplished chef and makes all on the menu from scratch... fresh and never frozen ! Service is timely and friendly! Encourage you to try it ....a hidden treasure in East Texas/ Hawkins!

We 've ordered pizzas from Angelos for quite some time, but had the chance to go in and have a proper meal for the first time this evening. I feel like I 've shortchanged myself for waiting so long. The chef came to our table, asked us what our favorite types of dishes were and what we liked about them and then created an impromptu omakase dish that was absolutely 100% spot on. He then followed on with another dish that built upon the first, capturing what we liked about the first dish and introduced something equally good, but distinctively different. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food without any hesitation. Olive oil and marinara for dipping (both handmade) with Italian bread and a fried bread is the standard starter, but is anything but standard. My wife has now developed a drinking problem the olive oil is that good! You can see the pride that the chef takes in his dishes and it shows in everything we tried (Lasagna, canneloni, manicotti, eggplant parm, lobster ravioli, and the special dish that he called Ravioli Angelo 's Special . It 's not a fancy place and they tend to be out of things sometimes, it appears (everything is fresh, no freezers, so when it 's gone it 's gone until the next fresh delivery), but they 're now on my regular list. Word of warning: They take cash only no credit cards, so come prepared.

An amazing place for great Italian food! Everything is made fresh including the mozzarella cheese on the pizza! The service was excellent and the owners attention to customer service rivals fine dining restaurants. I highly recommend Angelos if you live near Holly Lake. Even if you don't live near here Angelos is worthy of a road trip.
