Bidra med feedbackWOW. This place was fantastic. The fries: Perfectly crispy and just the right amount of seasoning. The burger: I got the pastrami burger. Every ingredient and topping was fresh and added a chorus to the flavor symphony. The Shake: simple and delicious. A must have. Can't see myself going anywhere else when I come through Heber.
Oh boy. We went to Granny's last night. I remember going here with my family growing up for shakes but haven't been in years. I took my daughter and her friend after a day at the lake, so three of us. We got three burgers, two fries, and two shakes. We spent $50 on just that for three of us!! Expensive but whatever. However the food was so, so disappointing. The burger patties tasted exactly like frozen cafeteria patties with some of their flavored salt added. A lot of salt. My daughter said the buns were gross and the best part of her burger was the lettuce and tomato. (She's only 12 btw) The bacon looked and tasted like the thin precooked bacon from Costco. The fries were mediocre, like cheap frozen fries reheated (but better than raisin' cane fries, yuck) and the shakes tasted like super cheap soft serve ice cream with some Oreos mixed in. The service was polite and good and fairly quick so an extra star for that. But the food was terrible and expensive so we'll never go here again. Arctic circle would've been half the price and better food and that's saying something.
I will admit to being underwhelmed by the burger. I had the basic one (since I already was getting a shake and the WORLD-CLASS onion rings) and found it pretty dry. But it was good sized.Onion Rings (plus fry sauce) were out of this world! Shake was basically what we call out East a concrete . Don 't even bother using a straw--super thick with tons of fresh ingredients!
The ice cream is ridiculously creamy here. I have never had such a creamy shake before!! I did try to get mint and fudge, and I don't think the mint made it since it didn't taste minty almost at all, but it was still a good shake. I do wish there was a slightly smaller size shake than the mini, since it was still so much ice cream.Parking: Granny's is in a repurposed house, so the parking around it is minimal, gravel, and tightly packed.
Granny 's is a classic American diner. You order out of a window and find a table outside in the yard ... there is some limited seating inside as well. The staff were friendly and answered our questions and resolved mistakes on our order quickly and kindly. I had the jalapeno burger which was delicious. I like when peppers add to the flavor and not melt your face off. We also had the salad which was...served in a paper fry tray. The kids had kids meals, but their favorite part were our custom shakes. Oreo cookie dough toffee and raspberry cheesecake Graham cracker. The fries were very similar to McDonald 's fries, which is actually a good thing in my book : If you are looking for the classic American, burger fry and shake experience. This is a good place to find it.
