Bidra med feedbackWe stayed 2 persons on Helgoland at the Hotel Rickmers' Insulaner, Insulaner Dependance. For dinner we went to the Rickmers Gallery Restaurant. There we wanted to surprise ourselves what a €€ restaurant offers in a 4-star hotel. We were surprised. There was a reduced menu. We have ordered: 1 x Roman salad, 2 x gratinated goat cheese with seed salad, 1 x fried sheep fillet. Roman Salad: It was necessary to look for the Parmesan, crispy chicken strips were cut into strips, then baguette pieces were mixed. Goat cheese: 2 pieces ordered, 2 different execution, one was probably from the previous day, salad was light brown, decoration were cherry tomato, the other was color fresh, decoration were 4 pieces Salad Gurke. Schollenfilet: very much braided fat in the fish, the edge of the plaice could not be cut with the knife, had to be peeled off with the fork, Rieslingsosse had to be searched, roasted potatoes ok, vegetables had been boiled/nourished. Wine we had white (GB and red (Merlot , went so, but I was placed the rest of the bottle in the glass, see photo. The staff was on my note with the shoulder and ran away from the table, probably he didn't understand me. Bon: 100, EUR (thousand €€€€, for staff up to a lady and kitchen there is 1 star. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was super, tasteful and always immediately refilled. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
NOT recommended! I've never eaten that bad on the island. We have been on Helgoland for many years and at least once in the gallery restaurant. The quality is always easy to weight, but was still good. So far, I think I've never eaten so badly on the island. The food gives the impression of convenience food pure; really very bad. The one star is exclusively for the very nice service.
We had booked the New Year's menu at the end of the year. Unfortunately, there was no explanation of what was served on the 6-course menu at the table, the dishes of my partner and I came very staggered in time and the agreements made were not implemented by the employees. The meat course was qualitatively very good and very tasty, unfortunately the fish course was much too dry. The quality of the dishes otherwise fresh very high quality.
Very good food, nice ambience. However, I wonder why cod and cod are guided on the menu as if it were two different types.
The food was a poem. We started with a long Anna as an aperitif. Appetizer was a small greeting from the kitchen in the form of bread and a small tasty selection of dips. As a main dish we wrought the steamed cod fillet with cream pinate, potato tamph and mustard sauce. The service was very attentive and accommodating. The ambience is very nice, quiet and pleasant.
