Hempstead Seafood Stk

This may be hit or miss depending on night. We went on a Monday night. Drinks were mixed up and had to be re-ordered. Part of one meal was never brought out as stated yet, a baked potato was brought out with meals that did not belong to anyone. Waited for condiments for the fish and fries. The chopped steak was way over done when asked for rare and was tasteless. Pork chop was swimming in drippings. The catfish and shrimp were EXCELLENT!!! The best we have had in a while! The salad was fresh with good dressings. The waitress was very good. Very confused about a basket of crackers brought out between the drinks and dinner plates. I really think if it is a steakhouse (and seafood) it should have been dinner rolls. If we happened to be in town we would go back but we won't deliberately go there.

Update had an amazing server recently that totally made all the difference the world. Food is still whatever but great staff this time!! Tried the burger patty was overcooked (of the frozen variety) but the bun was amazing. Added a star Been here twice now, both regrettably. Service is inconsistent. Place is a dive but not in a fun way. Food is... passable at times. I've had the shrimp and scallops. Generally overcooked but maybe that's by design. Oily, underseasoned. Also tried chicken fried steak and it was perhaps the most horrifying version... stringy, what the meat was is beyond me. The portions were generous, though. Not really sure what else to say. It isn't even cheap, either.

We went Sunday after noon so it was really busy with many families. Its a local go to for groups apparently. The food is really freshly fried and the battery is quite nice. The only slight negative was too bland onion rings for us.

My favorite place to come, when I'm in town. The fried catfish, shrimp, and okra were very delicious. The Shrimp Gumbo was amazing too.

Found this little gem and I would definitely recommend going I chose to have the grilled chicken, grilled veggies, grilled shrimp, crab cake,and coleslaw. The seafood was exquisite and the chicken, veggies, and coleslaw were amazing. Calm and mellow atmosphere. Would definitely go again.
