We came on note in our guide to drink coffee at the most beautiful June weather. The forest house is idyllic and looks attractive. There was no outdoor gastronomy, although there was a terrace in front of the entrance, but this was not seen as in older photos. Our question whether it was negated outside the administration behind the house. The interior of the café was as old as the air in the room, so we went back to unguided things. Shame
After we had already visited the large cafés in Grüssow (Hofcafé Landlust and Dargen (Vergiss Minen were not visited, we were particularly enthusiastic about Café Fangel, we were recommended as the best café on the island by our host. Now you can argue about whether the dusty 30's image has charm or only looks old. But a cake made of a 1 cm bisquitte, cut into two parts and filled with a lot of gelatin and some berries to call a cake is more than exaggerated it a freak! Especially since the cakes cannot be viewed before ordering as usual in all cafes. However, the diversity could already be seen in images on the Internet. We had left our landlord's judgement and experienced a surprise, but a little nice. However, we had not expected that this bakery could still be doubted by the instability of the waiter. In response to our complaint, he explained that we were not here in the Metropolitan (this cake is also served in the opera, we had escaped until then, and if that were not true, there would be a door through which we could disappear, there would be enough people out there to get in (which was actually right). U. a. he explained to us that he would be physical to us (which is certainly a special capacity for guests beyond the 70 and spiritually (actually? superior), asked us to never enter this house (whether it was not necessary for his request and also knew how we had raised our children (which were not there at all).
The journey through the forest on sandy soil is worth it: a café that has not been changed since ancient times, with wonderful cakes and cakes from delivered recipes rewards the guest with its fullness! Legendary: the box Mocca!!!!
The Cafe Forsthaus Fangel is the world's best café from my point of view. I've known for 56 years and miss it everywhere!
