Bidra med feedbackThis is my second visit to hotel Brouage. It's pretty easy to find in the Main Street. We were greeted well and enthusiastically. We were a. Family of 4, 3 vegetarians which is not always an easy ask in France! One had tartines to start which was very posh cheese on toast, blue cheese on French bread with a wonderful salad. Two had the vegetarian special which is just a lovely idea, nut roast, roast potatoes, different veg, little rice, etc a lovely mixed plate which was more than satisfying and the final person had cod with a spicy sauce. The food was lovely and served in suitable time. The meal with drinks came to €70. This is a hidden gem, lovely people and superb food.
Stopped for lunch whilst exploring this lovely village, great Crevettes rose and wine, great sitting outside people watching, inside was full, obviously very popular, recommended
Le Brouage is reputed to be the prettiest small town in France. I can't say yea or nay, but it is a lovely walk past the church down to the little harbour. Many small shops and sometimes "un jour de poterie" a pottery exhibition and sale.Hotel Restaurant Le Brouage offers typical French cuisine, serves with un certain je ne sais quoi!!
Hi, english spoken guys! my english is not fluent but my advice could help you whan you visit Brouage! Sorry but it's quite impossible to find and visit Brouage if you don't plan to go there. I'm a scientist working on oysters and mussels and Brouage is a great historical place for salt and mussel rearing. But it's also a great place for immigration during the XVII centutury. Therefore, the restaurant is OK for you. On the main street, i used to go two or three times a year to eat after or before a tour of the small city full of a wondeful light so particuliar in the Charentes. The Menu is OK with fresh fishes or seafoods. From june to November, mussels are OK and oysters from November to February. But no problem, you can eat osyters in summer time , ask for "speciales". Service is OK and toilets too. Ask for a local wine and enjoy your meal at noon before visiting exhibitions. Take pictures of the shadows when the sun is up!Sorry for my english
