Beaufort Local - Highgate

I went to there for brunch, atmosphere of this restaurant was nice and enough tables for customers. We ordered the croquet toast and fresh juice. Of course we expected to have a drink first however drink came after 30mins we ordered. We ate the toast already so that was no point to drink juice after meal. Well, food quality matches prices. I liked a chutney sauce on the side and melting cheese.

Came here for an arvo wine and snacks. They sell bar snacks at 3 for $10 between 5-6pm on a Saturday (not sure about other days). Got the liver parfait which was great but needed some more bread to finish off the parfait, the other items we ordered were also good. Nice to sit in the yard area for a wine!

Terrible service. Sat down and was not offered menu / water for 20 mins whilst wait staff did their best to avoid eye contact. Would not recommend.

The first time we hav tried your food but the experience was upset. We had smoked salmon dish in which the texture was too dried and the toast was still soft. Steak dish was ok apart from the dried steak and burnt bread!!! Pancake was dense, flat and burnt underneath (probably the flat grill's dirtiness...). In short, we were dissatisfied.

Terrible service by Maitre De. Left me standing at the door for 5 minutes while walking up and down the pass with a water jug and glasses. I told her there were several tables (for 5 pax) but she insisted I wait until she could get back to me. Very poor performance. Otherwise okay but it's lost its Merchant heart. Won't be in a hurry to return.
