Golden Chopsticks - Hilliard

The young blonde girls who take orders at this restaurant have very unpleasant customer service skills. They do not give their names when asked and do not seem very helpful over the phone. It is unclear if they were just having a bad day, but if I were the manager, I would suggest some pointers on how to provide better customer service on the phone.

Upon arriving, we noticed a sign at the entrance indicating that the restaurant is closed every Wednesday. As we entered, we were met with a strong smell of burning fat and fried food, although it was not as overpowering due to a light haze from smoke. Fortunately, we chose to sit outside where the smell did not cling to our clothing and hair. The menu prices displayed outside were inaccurate, which was a bit disappointing. The outdoor seating area was clean and had metal terrace furniture. I gave the restaurant two stars mainly because of the outdoor seating and the generous portion sizes. The dish I ordered was a decent size, but unfortunately, the taste was lacking. It seemed to be made with overcooked, brownish meat (possibly pork), with a small piece of carrot and a lone vegetable that resembled frozen vegetables. The dish lacked typical ingredients such as bell peppers, onions, or char siu pork. The appearance of the dish was not appealing, and it did not taste very good either. I would not choose to dine at this restaurant again. I usually prefer to eat at Golden Chopsticks in Jumpfield, where the food is consistently good and does not have the same issues.

Has the recipe for the hot and sour soup changed dramatically? It was salty, spicy, but lackluster with minimal ingredients like a few pieces of meat and mushroom caps, but only one type of mushroom, no greens, and no tofu. The egg rolls were average and the rest of the menu was uninspiring. Hopefully, this was just a one-time issue. I may give it another try in the future, but this is strike two for me.

Got the Mongolian beef which was salty sl beware if you order it. Then we ordered the orange chicken has a good sauce but the taste was like it was left open on a walk in cooler didn’t taste that good, as goes for the rice with isn’t made in house from my understanding it was actually decent which makes sense if they are cooking the rest of the food I wouldn’t recommend this place based on those entree’s
