Blane's Drive Inn Downtown - Hilo

Had bad experiences with their lunch. But this morni g had the breakfast burger and coffee. Ham, egg and cheese in Hamburger Bungalow delicious. Free coffee refiltrates when you dive. All for couples. Feel happy mahalo!

Ordered the regular size Chicken Katsu plate. Don't forget to tell them you want your Miso Soup with the regular size plates. Comes with the plate for free. They won't give it or mention it to you at the time of order. Miso Soup is broth with little tofu squares in it. Goes down good with the meal. Plate can be a little greasy at times cause of the deep frying. Strips of chicken with a Panko like crusting on the outside. Quantity is great no complaints there. Two scoops rice and one scoop potato macaroni salad. Also comes with a sauce to dip your chicken in.

Good ole Blane's. Same plate lunches, burgers, loco mocos and slushes (kinda like a slushie that you can add some ice cream to the center of). Only bummer is this location closes at 1500 (3:00pm). Kinda doesn't make sense since their's a school up the road and more than a few folks get off around 4.

Their customer service was absolutely terrible. We arrived at two and were told to order something quick and that would only take a few minutes to cook because they were about to close, which wasn’t until three. The only decent thing about this place was the food.

This place is at best ok. Chicken still had skin and was really greasy. Hamburger was paper thin. Way over priced, should've caught clue when we pulled in there wasn't a soul there, during lunch time, we had been at boiling pots. We paid $16.00 and we were unable to finish it.
