The Purple Cow - Hilton Head

Excellent! Love, Love, Love, Love The Purple Cow! We ordered 6 vegan and 6 regular donuts. My wife was responsible and got every (I and the children) order in the night before. She sent our order by e-mail at night before about 8:00. We have an email at 1:30 that our donuts would be ready to pick up at 8:30. Fortunately, they had some tables and chairs in front of the building and I didn't have to eat my donuts in the car. I would have tried, and I would have done a big mess. I can't describe how good the vegan donuts were. Everyone loved their donuts! Very cool place, cool owner and the donuts are excellent. My wife enjoys her Purple Cow shirt!

The best bakery I was in! Bernie opened her doors with a smile and from the moment she announced the menu, her customers saw their passion on the display! Your baked goods were delicious. She's really a nice soul with incredible talent. Brownie was the best dessert I cost. Bernie's staff is efficient and hard working. It was refreshing to see a group of young people who support them and work so hard! Bernie worked at night to prepare goods for the next day, and it is clear that she takes care of her work. Go there early because it will sell, but you will not find a better person than Bernie or a better bakery than the Purple Cow. It will be a tradition on our HHI trips!

Don't run here! This is the most beautiful bakery on the island. All I had from here is incredible and the woman who runs it is nothing but the most wonderful and friendly person you will meet. The donuts are by far the best on the island. They're so rich and filled that I was stuffed after just one. The selection of baked goods offered depends on what it can do on this day. Do not despair if it does not have exactly what you have seen on the menu; every baked product from Purple Cow is sure to be amazing. Then the coffee is just as fantastic. Nothing is more satisfying than a large cup of hot coffee with wonderful breakfast bakeries to start in the morning. If you don't drive in the car or on your bike just what are you waiting for?! I hear the donuts can sell out (there is no surprise). Enjoy!

My wife and I visited the Purple Cow last week during our vacay on HHI. My wife is a vegan and was looking for a great vegan dessert spot. This spot makes homemade vegan donuts which did not disappoint! We didn’t know about ordering ahead of time so we walked in (super clean business) and placed an order. After 15 minutes, my wife had a box of hot vegan donuts that looked better than anything else. We chatted a bit with the owner (who told us she was originally from NY- so are we) and she gave my wife some recommendations for vegan spots around the island. Super friendly and will definitely be back when we revisit HHI next spring. Definitely check this place out, whether you’re a vegan or not- sweets all looked SO good!

We had an outstanding experience at The Purple Cow! This is clearly a one-woman show, and she does it all! We arrived early and found out she was almost sold out! She had prepared a variety of delicious treats for the day, and she moves quickly because those in the know understand how good her offerings are! Everything we tried was tasty and unique, especially the warm baked donuts with custom icing—they're truly one-of-a-kind. I recommend going early or placing your order the day before, as her oven has its limits, and you won't want to miss out. Next time, we'll definitely order ahead. The owner seemed a bit tired after the busy Easter weekend, but she was friendly and passionate about her craft. She was very appreciative that we stopped by to try her delicious creations.
