Bidra med feedbackI have been wanting to write this review for a while now. I visited this restaurant earlier this year on a beautiful day in Altona during early autumn. I decided to have breakfast here and was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic it was. The portion sizes were generous and the food was very tasty, with perfectly cooked eggs. The prices were reasonable and the staff were helpful and attentive, despite being busy. They made sure to check on me for more coffee or drinks. They also catered to dietary restrictions and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, kid-friendly, and pram/stroller accessible. There is good parking available if you arrive early.
This restaurant is a great place to stop for a break during a bike ride. The latte art is beautifully done and the size of the coffee is incredibly generous - the largest large I've ever had! The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is pet-friendly.
We have visited this restaurant multiple times now. The pies are delicious and I am excited to try the smoked fish next time. They also have fantastic milkshakes and inexpensive bottled water, perfect for those coming from the beach.
Sad to say this place has new owners, and it’s definitely not a go to for us any more. The old menu and some of the old staff remain, but we’ve found them woefully understaffed in the afternoons (if they bother to open at all), with the owner trying to do everything themselves. Have waited over 20 mins for a take away coffee on more than one occasion, even though there was hardly anyone else there. <br/ <br/ We still come here sometimes, but it’s not our regular haunt the way it used to be. <br/ <br/ <br/ <br/ Our favourite local. They do simple, home cooked food. The soups they're doing for winter are delicious, and a steal for $8 with toasted ciabatta (Pea and ham, and lamb and barley are our favourites). I also love their Norfolk bacon and egg sandwich. Nana rolls are also excellent, and they have a good variety of cakes and pies. <br/ <br/ Best views in Altona right towards the beach. Although all seating is outside so maybe not best to visit on a wet day (pretty well sheltered so cold weather is fine).<br/ <br/ Note I've upgraded to a 5 as this place has really hit their stride and we're here once a week at least now. Coffee is consistently great and their $10 soup and toasted sandwich deal is the best meal I've had in a long time!<br/ <br/ Nothing fancy, but just thoughtfully made food.
Good menu variety for this little unassuming Cafe right across from the Altona Beach. Friendly service. They stock the KA pies. I ordered a milk shake, quite tasty.
