Bibo is a French fine restaurant near the famous stairs in Sheung Wan, with its entrance hidden on Hollywood Road. It took us some time to find it, as well as a way to open the door to this art restaurant. We were greeted by modern art pieces as soon as we enter the restaurant. In fact, the whole restaurant is decorated with many paintings, statues and installation works by famous artists. The restaurant Week 2019 Spring Lunch Menu is a 3-course menu that was started with two free snacks: First this beautiful cheese doll was on decorative stones. The cheese inside was so creamy and delicious! We would definitely want a little more of this bite size puff! Second snack was a crispy cracker with chili powder blown up. The cracker itself was pretty, but the chili powder made the cracker a little too salty for me. The first course was Scallop with Cauliflower and Haddock. There were three large pieces of fleshy mussels. They were so fresh and juicy! Yum! In addition, the creamy sauce in the bottom has filled up the taste of the scallops and made the whole dish really enjoyable. Second course was Quail with water spinach in X.O. sauce. The Quail was bigger than I expected. It had crispy skin and was indeed quite fleshy. I'm not normal for many spices, so the X.O. sauce for me was too salty. Nevertheless, the whole court was very satisfied. The third course was a dessert of the pineapple genoise with Cream and Coffee Nibbles. I loved this court the most. The cake was dipped with ananassirup, which was so delicious! The cream and coffee bubbles have texture and taste to the already amazing dessert. No wonder this is Bibo's signature court. Thanks to Restaurant Week I could try this chic restaurant without breaking the bank.
An artistic French restaurant with well-maintained food. Felt thrilled to be surrounded by many amazing art pieces, especially many are top-notched, most sought-after artists such as OBEY, KAWS, Andre, Murakami, Yoshitomo NARA, etc. I love, above all, the cooking method that the cook injected into its ingredients.
Tucked away in a speak-easy manner (there is a button) on Hollywood, the restaurant combines modern art (it's literally carved into the walls) with French dining. The food, like the surrounding art, is very well plated. The star was the celeriac risotto. Great for a special occasion.
Such a lovely place and foods are nice. But, there may not have enough training to waiters/waitresses as there’s only one among them can really introduce the dishes.
