Flour & Barley – Brick Oven Pizza Waikiki

I've been to Flour Barley many times and I always enjoy the food. During this recent visit, however, the service was quite slow when we arrived, but soon a woman came to the table and apologized for waiting. It turned out that she was the manager and was called because they were short on waiting staff at night. This is devotion and shows that they are ready to go the extra mile. Her name was Mimi (I believe) and she was exceptional! It was a great evening.

Great food and good service EXCEPT we feel taken from the top. We were a party of six and when the bill came a 18% tip was added, but we did not notice and over 20% more tipped - a $169 meal with $70 of tips. Two problems: – Should the server not have noticed and said something (we would have left them a bit more). – When a party of six instead of 8 or 10 started to calculate an automatic satisfaction. We tap more than 20%, but rarely 40%. Ow! Also no Cambodiaina discount mentioned.

The location is ideal with a large parking lot and prices that are not as expensive as other places in Waikiki. Just a few minutes from the beach, the restaurant is located on the 3rd floor and offers an amazing view of the surrounding buildings and bustling streets. The seafood selection is excellent, though the prices are typical of Waikiki. Be sure to visit during Happy Hour for the same great service and food at a more affordable price, with plenty of seating in a quiet dining area.

Wonderful staff! Every employee we met was friendly, patient and attentive to our presence and needs.

Happy hour menu and prices were Bert reasonable. Server was attentive and gave us Kamaaina discount of 10%.
