Gen Korean Bbq House - Honolulu

Very disappointing experience. I don’t usually leave reviews, but wow this was bad. The waiter rarely checked in on us, and when he did it was rushed and literally “do you want more?” What kind of service is that? We ordered sweet spicy fried chicken plate and it came out cold. We asked for more kimchi, he never brought it, never refilled my water cup. This is basic stuff. The dirty grill was left burning/smoking for far too long, multiple times, I was trying to eat with the burning smoke in my face. For the majority of our meal they left the dirty plates that the raw meat came on just sitting on our table. I took a photo because finally, someone picks them up but just sets them on the two dirty tables next to us. They start stock piling all the customers dirty dishes in this section. Gross, why not take them to the back if you’re already holding them?I swear we are not picky people, but when we just need the necessities like water refill to order more food… This wasn’t worth the money and not the Gen experience we are used to.

The food was great we did not get our appetizers until well into our meal. Once we got them, they were good. The music they were playing was not what I would expect for a restaurant more fit for a Hot Topic.

I like this place, I will go there again! Everything we ordered was delicious! I’m trying soju for the first time and I’m delighted and why I haven’t tried it before

Been seating here for 30mins only 1 meat was served. Worst Korean BBQ that I’ve ever been. Served barely enough 5 people, only good for one person per serving. Staff just walked pass by. I didn’t know all you can eat means 1pc of meat for group of 5. Very disappointed. I will not recommend to anyone. If it let me post this without giving a “STAR” I wouldn’t.
