Bidra med feedbackOverall, the food was delicious. The dormitories and Gyros, served on a bed of salad, were the favorite dishes at our table. The fish and moussaka that were also ordered were pretty good as well.
Flat out loving the lunch and dinner entrees... tonight enjoyed Greek Marina in Koko Marina... The combo plate with Chicken, lamb, shrimp was mouthwatering flavorful with the meats melting in your mouth good!! oh yeah the yum yum Greek salad with bread was a perfect fit... add a glass of red wine ... yeahaaa baby good stuff!!
After hiking Makapu'u with the dogs, we stopped by Greek Marina for dinner. Such a great location in the Koko Marina Center. Since we had our pups with us, we sat outside and the ambiance was really nice. I believe I saw another table outside that BYOB'd! So a great option to pau hana with friends. Me and my friend both ordered the gyros and the eggplant appetizer to share. The gyros isn't a sandwich/wrap like we expected but more like a gyro plate that comes with salad and pita. If I were to get this dish again- I'd probably order a side of rice to better complete the meal. For the appetizer we were between the fries, calamari, and then went with the eggplant- thinking we were making the healthier choice. The eggplant was so oily... and just left us with uneasy stomachs and very burpy. I will say, the service was very friendly and prompt. They were so nice to us and our pups on the patio.
A solid choice for Greek Food that's been in the same location for decades. I last went there maybe 15 years ago. I don't think much has changed. Food is good but don't expect exquisite presentation. I recently went to Mara and that place just blew my mind. Of course for what they are charging, it really should. Greek Marina is more simple. The food isn't quite as fresh, but it has a pretty good value proposition. My last review was for Teddy's Bigger Burger. For the price of a combo meal there, you can get one of the specialty plates there. I'd argue the sandwiches at Greek Marina are an exceptional deal. I recently went to Southern Love and got a catfish sandwich for $18. The Fish Sandwich at Greek Marina was actually BETTER and only cost $11. Portions of the full sized plates is generous. We couldn't even finish everything. I will definitely be back.
I hadn't been here in awhile, but was ono for a gyros chicken sandwich, which has been really tasty in the past. Yelped on the way (YOTW should be a thing, btw) to check current menu/pricing and was pleasantly surprised to find the prices haven't really hiked like everywhere else (please don't). Ordered 2 gyros sandwiches, 1 regular and 1 chicken, and both with fries. The fries is where they get you. The sandwich was only $10.95, but you can add a salad or fries to your sando for $5. Fries were hot and crispy, cooked to perfection. And the chicken gyros hit the spot! A little bit too much mayo, though. The same server we've seen for years was still there. He seems to be the only guy running the front of house, and does a great job. He isn't the most overtly friendly, but he isn't surly and always gets the job done right, which is a win in my book. My main gripe it's summer and we chose to sit inside, but I think the AC is broken? It wasn't as hot as sitting outside, but still stickier than we would've liked. Oh well. Food is good, price is good, service is efficient.
