Minato Japanese - Honolulu

The food at this restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced. However, service can be a bit slow as there is only one server. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance to ensure you get a seat. You are allowed to bring your own beer or wine. The salad plates are particularly tasty.

I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. It was worth the 20-minute walk from Waikiki. I tried the lunch special, which included tonkotsu ramen with a side of tempura, and I was delighted. The presentation was cute, with adorable chopsticks, a lovely server, and the food was delicious. The tonkotsu broth was rich, the noodles were soft, and the tempura had a nice variety of vegetables. It's a small restaurant, so be prepared to wait if it's just the lady working. Support the local flavor! Parking is limited, with a small parking lot and street parking available nearby.

This restaurant serves delicious home-cooked Japanese food, just like my grandma would make.

Wonderful find! Like being in Japan! Food so artfully prepared and served, portions are perfect. Even comes with green tea and a dessert! Price is reasonable; service gracious.Parking: Parking is convenient, shared with Fujiya.

So happy that Minato finally has begun dining in. We've been doing take-out since the pandemic, but nothing beats dining in, freshly prepared dishes. We had the curry upon, miso butterfish and shrimp tempura and tonkatsu dishes.
