Dirty Skillet - Hope

This restaurant easily deserves 5 stars! We had a fantastic dinner - the crab cakes were the best I've ever tried in Alaska! Both of us ordered the Cattle Bottom steak and it was cooked to perfection. Our hostess, Belen, was very polite and attentive, yet not intrusive - she was like a perfect ninja! We highly recommend this cozy place.

This restaurant in the town of Hope is a delightful surprise—a cozy, inviting spot. We tried the crab cakes and ball 'n chain burgers, both of which were delicious. And the mud pie was the perfect ending to our meal. They offer a great variety of beers and wines at affordable prices. The atmosphere was lively and entertaining. The staff was attentive and friendly. We definitely plan on returning!

This restaurant is reminiscent of the Alaska of old - tranquil, unique, welcoming, and free from the throngs of irritating tourists who feel entitled to experience the state without any inconvenience. The food and service are outstanding, and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. My family and I felt like we were in paradise and didn't want to leave. I highly recommend staying away from this gem.

Yummy and cute. Ordered the Caesar and Ball and Chain Burger and the corn cheese dip. So good. Great service. Topped it off with their unique ice cream. Strange but tasty. Service was great too. We came late in the season but it would be an even better sunny day venue with open air and fire pits. I’ll def come back in the summer!

Although inside seating is very limited 1 8 top table), outside had 4 large 8 tops with a propane fire pit in the middle. Plus several 3 tops and bar seats. Staff were all friendly. Good beer selection and wines . Burgers both beef, chicken salmon were on the menu. Salads, soup, pasta and more. I had the side salad with 2 crab cakes. The crab cakes had lots of chunks of crab were so tasty. One of us had the crab cakes and a cup of their Lentil soup. She really enjoyed the Lentil soup and the crab cakes. Another friend had a salmon Caesar salad, so delicious. My husband asked about lower sodium options. The chef was able to serve him unsalted fries and burger but still retain some flavor. Ahh but the piece de resistance was dessert. My husband I shared the rhubarb crumble with their homemade cinnamon vanilla ice cream. The crumble had nice chunks of rhubarb and was the perfect sweetness. Our friends shared the apple crisp with homemade cinnamon vanilla ice cream. They seclared it was perfect. Great meal along with friendly service. Thank you
