Bidra med feedbackWe experienced the 3-course Thanksgiving dinner at J 's. The hostess was a little slow at getting us started with wait staff, but soon thereafter Demond (Mgr stopped by to check on us. I told him the restaurant was set up nice and the air was perfect. Imentioned we had been there about 15-20 mins and nobody had come to initially check on us. Well, that was immediately tended toand we were covered up with cheerful and helpful staff (Jay . We were treated like royalty the rest of the evening. Curtis(assume asst Mgr and Demond went above and beyond to ensure we had a very pleasant experience. BTW, kudos to the chef(s andthe girl (Addy, I think that appeared to be between the wait staff and the chefs (I 'm told the position is called an Expo .She even checked on us twice to make sure everything was prepared well. The turkey and sides were excellent and the pumpkinspice dessert was awesome. Thanks again for a great and memorable experience. We look forward to a return trip. HappyThanksgiving.
I recently ate an amazing lunch there and the Hostess Christine was awesome, she was very friendly and made me feel at home! Awesome service! Good food, great atmosphere! But Christine was absolutely one of the best hostesses I have ever encountered, and she was the only one actually working the restaurant floor from what I could see! Keep up the awesome work Christine!
We had dinner in the restaurant, eating was good! we started with the sausage elote, it was a good portion. was not happy with the presentation when they have something to cut, not on paper! I had the filet that was very good, my friend had the rib bbq plate and really enjoyed it! it is a good stop if they stay there or are in the opposite!
We stayed last week for 4 days in a 2 br/bath palm villas. First off I should have picked waterfront condo instead. It looks like it's only $100 more per night, and it would absolutely be worth it for water view. The first villa they gave us was right next to their new events tent (bright lights when you sit on your balcony you are staring at the roof of the tent. I asked to move, pleaded, finally she gave in and moved us to the next building where we at least had a pool view. These were 2 story units on top so you walk up tiny steps to get to them, and then tiny steps inside the unit to get up the stairs. I'm in pretty good shape so not a problem, but be aware if you're hauling around a baby or have other needs. The villas were apparently redone recently. That's pretty obvious, but don't expect luxury. These are basic although they do have a lot of space and a kitchen. They have sparse items in kitchen though dishes, a few pans, silverware. If you want to bake a pizza bring your own tray. They did have a Keurig that was appreciated. A/C was ok and we were there 100+ days, just realize it takes a little bit to cool off 2 levels (we are used to this at home because we have a big suburban house near Houston). The hallway upstairs will never cool with the skylights, but the bedrooms themselves were fine. Why they'd spend millions on renovations and not demand double sinks in the master bath is beyond me, but like I said, these were pretty basic. At least they were clean the maid service did a good job for us. I left a big tip for them. The food J's was good but overpriced for a hotel restaurant/bar. It cost us about the same to have dinner one night at Yacht Club. Which brings us to the subject of cost. Overall $500 a night for a 2 br/2 bath villa that is very similar to a basic beach villa is ok. But then they add the $40 resort fee. I would understand that if it covered something but it doesn't. Literally everything else except the pools was a separate charge. It was crazy. The obstacle course (not very big closed some days), jet skis, even walking down to Yacht Club 25 per day, per person giving you the message that they really don't want you down there if you're a hotel guest), mini golf everything. Stores/resources their market is basic staff is slow, particularly w/the Starbucks. The gift shops down by the marina pro golf shop are much better have an assortment of logo merchandise. You should also be aware a little town called Marble Falls is about 10 minutes away and has a lot of comforts great movie theater, HEB (groceries), an amazing little chocolate shop along with other restaurants shops. I highly recommend Marble Falls would give that 5 stars! Make sure you have a car so you can get there. I would say service overall was ok no one was rude except the ridiculous desk clerk. Other than that they were all polite and helpful. I suspect they are bringing in international workers as they do at Broadmoor. We did find this resort last minute chose it because it has a highly ranked tennis program. The weather was a little hot for tennis, but my husband (league player) thought the pros were ok. Overall experience if I were to visit again I'd try very hard to get a lake view condo in the Yacht Club area. It's very pretty in that part of the resort you can see they are doing a lot of construction to take advantage of that. The pool (and poolside bar) is amazing there and the staff in that area was great.
Firstly, I'd like to say that we are very well-traveled (to many countries) and have experienced every type of resort, so we had great expectations for this resort based on reviews of this place. Booked a two night stay at this resort (Sun-Tues). Apparently, only one of the resort's restaurants are open during this time, so both nights we ate at J's inside the main hotel. The food was below-average and cost quite a lot (over $100 each night). Our one-bedroom villa was very nice, except that the A/C wasn't cooling (in 108 degree temps outside), so we had to call for maintenance. It was fixed relatively quickly. However, our TV also would not connect, so we had to rent everything to watch, except for the live TV option. Maintenance stated that it couldn't connect because we were using iPhones and not Android phones to screencast. Fortunately, the front desk comp'd the two rented movies upon check-out, which we did a couple of hours earlier than we had planned, thanks to Housekeeping waking everyone up wanting to know when we'd be checking out so they could clean the room. The hotel also comp'd our resort fee because of this. There was only one EV car charging station that worked at the hotel, and it was one of the slow-charging units, so my vehicle had to stay connected all night. Having our 5 year old with us, we had hoped to do the Adventure Park with her one day, but that was closed as well. So, for $500/night, we only had access to the pools and playground for her. There were plenty of options to PAY for other experiences, such as the Yacht Club (however, for $25/person, we found that hanging out at the beach/pool area there was just a bit too much for the day). The market (where you can purchase small items/snacks/Starbucks) had the slowest employees, and on one occasion, only one person there, who was obviously new thanks to having to look in the Starbucks recipe book many times to make a Cappuccino). Overall, we spent almost $2, 000 for two nights and basically only got to use the pool. I did book a spa facial and massage, which was nice, but nowhere near a 5 star experience. I've had way better and less expensive 5-star experiences at day spas around any city I've visited. Lastly, the resort does offer an indoor playground, which was the equivalent of any McDonald's playground which costs way less. Overall, this was a strong 2-star experience.
