Library Restaurant Bar Brew - Houghton

I visited a restaurant today and was impressed by how quickly the cook prepared our meals. The hamburgers were the best I have ever tasted! We ordered the classic burger, and the service was excellent. They also prioritized health and safety during COVID-19. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Thank you!

Had a great dinner but I had a poor experience in the bar area. As always I want to be fair so I did spill a drink and I asked for napkins or a bar towel and the staff acknowledged my request but took appx. 15 minutes to deliver so my wife and I had to wait in a soggy mess. I said to my waiter that he might want to pay attention to his client's needs in a more timely fashion. Guy tells me to leave and embarrassed me and my wife in the bar. Totally out of line where is the ideal that the customer is always correct. He denied my request of a refund for replacement drinks and yells at me and my wife in the bar. Luckily the astute manager comes in and refunds my cost note we did not drink the replacement beverages. Meanwhile the male waiter continues to berate us as we leave. How could this be allowed by this establishment? Very dissatisfied with a poor employee. I also must note that I tipped Shelly, our server in the dining area over 20 percent. I asked her to acknowledge this as I was being verbally assaulted by the waiter but she ignored me further belittling me when she could have been honest and made me feel better about a poor experience. All in all food was good bar employee was rude and needs training in basic customer relations. Plenty of other options service was poor overall wait times are long for food, drinks, and even the bill. Enter ajt your own risk of verbal assault and poor treatment.

This is an amazing restaurant! The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient.

We recently moved our freshman husky to Michigan Tech and were unfamiliar with the area and campus, so we were exploring it for the first time. We heard about several restaurants that were worth checking out, and our experience at the Library was fantastic. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and it was very family-friendly since we had our 13-year-old with us. The prices were also great. It was so enjoyable that we decided to return the next night to celebrate my new dog’s 18th birthday dinner!

The food is always good; the servers are usually friendly. But the service is extremely slow even when they are not busy.
