Satay - Houston

For our appetizers, we ordered Roti with Chicken Curry, Beef Satay, and Calamari. You can never go wrong with Roti and Chicken Curry, and this dish did not disappoint! The Calamari was perfectly fried and juicy—definitely generous in portion. The Beef Satay was tender and flavorful, with a nice smoky taste that made for a great start. For our main courses, we had a combination of fried rice, Maggi Mee Goreng, and Sizzling Pepper Chicken. Everything was amazing! The Maggi Mee Goreng was especially unique; it wasn't completely dry, nor too saucy, and it had a delightful Malaysian flavor. Despite being full, we couldn't resist dessert! We tried the fried ice cream and fried bananas. The fried ice cream was good, but I preferred the fried bananas even more. Overall, the food and service were exceptional. I hesitated to write about this hidden gem—at least it was hidden for me—but it was just too good not to share!

I had an excellent experience with the Malaysian cuisine at this restaurant. I ordered the Nasi Lemak, and it was spot on in flavor with a generous serving size. The Rendang was perfectly balanced with the right amount of spices. I also enjoyed the Mee Siam, which was not overly sweet. The menu offers a wide variety, although the prices are a bit on the high side. Nonetheless, I was looking forward to going back, especially to try the Char Kuey Teow and Laksa. It’s such a disappointment to see that they are now permanently closed.

This was our second visit, and the food was just as good as before. The customer service is excellent. However, our orders took longer to arrive than usual during our last visit, although I'm not sure why. They kindly offered us free dessert, even though we didn't say anything about the delay.

Mango chicken on the right side. Seafood soup left. Could have split soup between 2-3 people. Nice, but needed more herbs / depth of taste. Very much on a Monday post dinner. Clean Spacious Square with a beautiful layout that has been open for about 4 months. I used to go to Sushi Square and this is a welcome change.

Was brought here by a close friend who is a former resident of Singapore and said this is the best representation of the fare you would find in country. The food was above par and the service was superb, highly recommended.
