La Piedra Larga - Huelva

We were on a day trip to Huelva from Isla Cristina (by bus which was excellent), and dropped in here for a quick drink not intending to eat. However, as it was clearly a restaurant rather than a bar we were persuaded to try some fresh fish. The chef showed us the fish beforehand, and despite our reluctance to eat a lot, managed to tempt us to a tapas sized portion to share. He cooked it fresh in a salty coating, and it arrived piping hot with an aioli dip. It was all delicious although personally I prefer my fish cleansed (probably an english thing to be honest), so I left the tiny cuttlefish. A massive bonus in this restaurant was the 'free ' starter of Habas con choco (choco is cuttlefish), which was absolutely delicious and I am currently looking up the recipe online to try and replicate it at home. Similarly, the red wine offered to my partner was first class, soft and fruity. The restaurant seems pricey compared to walk in tapas bars, but for a sit down meal it was good value (13.50 euro) and we were extremely happy with the very attentive service and quality.

Spectacular place for lunch or dinner, excellent attention of the waiters, we ask 2 people a few broken eggs with lobsters and foie, a besugo to the dish that the waiter prepared for us only to have to puncture and eat. dessert a homemade egg flank and invited us to 2 shots. the account, 60€ very jotos for the quality they offer. We'll be back when we can!

We have many of the well fried, very good and good quality puntilites. salmonetes also quite good. saladilla acceptable. The culantro picadillo was better but it was good. Very good tuna cake. a few chrome of quite consequent carabiners, but unfortunately they were made with milk, omitted in the letter of allergens and there was a comensal at our table that had to go quickly to a pharmacy to take a lactase pill. less bad we notice dairy flavor that confirmed us of cooking and reacted quickly. the case is that other types of chromes noticed the letter but not those of carabineros and that's why we asked them. a serious mistake that I hope the restaurant will correct quickly for the good and health of those who are lactose intolerant and believe in the veracity of what the letter indicates.
