Plates - Huntington Station

I love the food. Are you kidding? Gig balsamic reduction with stuffed mushrooms. All the small plates out of this world. And the waiter dude was on point. Bummer the place is an acoustic nightmare unaided by the over the top (volume) monologuesby the waitress. Love the food though

Food was incredible and the pricing was great. Especially for Huntington. However the service was awful. It was still worth going to because of the great flavors. Hopefully the servers become better trained and more attentive.

AMAZING. Looked for a place to have a nice dinner with my boyfriend. He and I are both college students at different universities about 3 hours apart, so we try to go big when we go on a date. We found Plates thanks to groupon, but were not able to apply the coupon because it's only good Sun-Thurs and we went on Saturday night. Made reservations but honestly didn't need to since there were several tables available when we showed up. The hostess (Jenny? was SUPER friendly, kinda quirky but very fun, knowledgable about the restaurant and menu, and very attentive to our needs. Made the experience that much more memorable, took very good care of us. Menu changes every season to bring in new flavors. Very appealing to us because we're foodies and love eating new things. BF and I each had different cocktails (first frost and smoked pineapple and split five small plates (tokri chaat, naanini, calamari, lamb sliders, and stuffed mushrooms Portions were surprisingly satisfying and incredibly delicious. Perfect for two people to split. We savored each bite. Meal was paced well in terms of when plates were brought out. Also got dessert, three different ice cream flavors. Easily around $100 for the meal but VERY worth the money. 10/10 highly recommend, will be returning

Aromas were great but the food was bland and slightly greasy. The chickpea batter on the calamari did not adhere well. The lamb sliders were slightly overcooked and the bun too sweet. I did not think ketchup was the appropriate condiment for the flavors. I cannot recall the name of the platter of fried onions, fish and cheese but it was heavy and bland. Wait staff tended to be a little too intensely enthusiastic. I wish I could give it a better review. Maybe I didn't order the right foods.
