Daisy's Diner Country Store

From the very beginning, it was a complete letdown. We walked in to find several staff members at the front, who told us we could sit wherever we liked. Fast forward 15 minutes later—after every staff member had seen us at least once or twice—we still hadn't received any service. Eventually, a member of our party had to go and find someone to assist us. When we finally did get service, our waitress seemed totally out of her depth. Shortly after our arrival, another table came in and they were immediately provided with menus and crayons for their kids. Meanwhile, we had a young child at our table who would have loved to color, but no one acknowledged him. The waitress never returned for drink refills, forcing us to ask another server for help. The food was underwhelming; the mashed potatoes and gravy were cold, the hushpuppies were hard as rocks, and the rolls were burnt—with the entire meal lacking flavor and seasoning. To top it off, three out of four shrimp on my plate were undercooked. I definitely won’t be coming back.

My husband ordered the fish dinner and I had the shrimp; everything was fantastic. Our waitress was incredibly nice and helpful. We're looking forward to returning!

I don’t get to go out often, but when I do, I choose this place. I usually order takeout, and the food is always excellent. However, yesterday, the 26th, my meal came to just over $40. Since I’m on a budget, I rounded it up to $45. But when I checked my account this morning, I noticed that I was charged $48.66. I rounded up to keep it simple, so seeing that extra charge was disappointing, especially since their food is so delicious. If I can’t trust using my card there, I won’t be able to go back.

Honestly, the food can be either the best meal ever or the worst depending on the cook. What is consistently good is the tea. You cannot mess up tea. There’s a quaint store inside of the restaurant that sells Christian merchandise, shirts and jewelry. The staff are awesome and everything typically comes out quickly. Never seen it be nasty or dirty so there’s a plus.

The service was alright until the server sat down the check in the middle of the table. Then, we put the money and tip on the table (in the same spot) and left th building. When in the parking lot, approaching our vehicle, another server was yelling for my attention. As she approached, she asked us if we paid. I told her yes, we had, and the money and tip were on the table. She quickly said that she had looked and there wasn't money there. I told my friend who had paid that she was aproaching and saying that we hadnt paid and he reassured her the bill including the server's tip had been paid with the money on the table. Horrible ending to a not so impressive meal. No appoligy. But we won't be back to the local diner.
