Louie — Oakbrook Terrace - Illinois

I went out with a few co-workers and we ended the night here. It was last call and i just wanted a water for one of my buddies cause they clearly needed one. I asked the white, female, blonde bartender for a water and she said it was $3. Okay whatever, i handed her a $5 and she turned around after a minute to see if i was still there…in my head I’m like “yeah i want my change”. Ambience was that of a CTA bus stop. This was not just because of the loud woman in her bathrobe sitting at the bar obnoxiously yelling on her phone and to bar staff for at least 10 minutes. Or because the floors were sticky. The music set a strange tone, going from 80s synth pop, classic rock, then to aggressive gangster rap or Adele. Like listening to someone's iPod shuffle from 2009. This is an older bar Louie in need of some updates to the decor. They have about 3 machines to gamble on if you are so inclined. The burger was rather tasty. The service was average.

Five years ago we came to Oakbrook for Christmas shopping on Thanksgiving only to find almost every restaurant closed, but not Bar Louie. It has become our annual tradition ever since to go there for our evening meal. The service is excellent and super friendly and to boot the bar food is awewome. Not trying to give away our families little secret, but wanted to give the staff a shout out.
