The Trapper Pub - Inuvik

Last night felt like an eternity spent in the Mad Trapper. I’m not sure whether I should feel proud or embarrassed to admit that we were part of the group that opened and then eventually closed the place...

The atmosphere of the place is quite dark and somewhat gloomy, and at times the music is so loud that it's difficult to carry on a conversation. However, it’s the only bar in Inuvik, so there's never a dull moment.

I had an amazing time! The locals were fantastic, and the DJ played outstanding music. The vibe really picks up at midnight. However, there were a few locals who seemed a bit overly enthusiastic about having a good time, but it’s all good fun. The bartenders were excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the place was wonderful.

I stopped by for a beer while waiting for some time to pass. The bartender was gorgeous, the locals were friendly, and the decor had an old charm but was well-kept! Just a heads up, they only accept cash, so make sure to bring some or be prepared to use the ATMs!

This is the only spot in the city where you can enjoy a great time with friendly people in a pub-like atmosphere. While it may be a bit outdated, the dim lighting and lively crowds on the weekends create a fun ambiance. A special shoutout to Edna for the delightful well water gun!
