More than you can pay elsewhere, but it is worth 100%. (Support one of us who was vegetarian with a variant on British Sunday Roast). A visit from KL. Everybody goes over the food in Ipoh, now I am.
The cook is very passionate to create and cook the food. Breakfast was brilliant, only choice of 3 mushroom soup, sloppy Joe (comforts) or vegetarian omelet. The breakfast menu changes regularly, makes here exciting weekly. For drinks the refreshing green tea had kombucha. Equipped with French press craft coffee. The Grandmakase lunch menu uses the best fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious food.
It's not just about bread, it's a modern Bistronomy located in the old town of Ipoh. The environment is very well designed, comfortable, and most of all fun. The owner, Chef Sam isn't just a guy who passionate with bread, talk to him and he can tell you the real deal of good and healthy food. Definitely a fun guy to talk with (he well versed with English, Cantonese). Chef Sam suggested me to try their special lunch set Croque Madame Special. Served with cheesy melted sandwich, luncheon meat, cheddar cheese topping, egg (with truffle oil), soup of the day, dessert, coleslaw and iced lemon tea. The portion is huge, really going to make you full. Overall the ambient, the settings and the atmosphere is very comfortable.
Best lunch ever on our trip in Malaysia. We had the beef brisket (oh so tender and soft and the nasi lemak (it’ll never be the same again! on Sunday brunch menu. Definitely worth the stopover on our way to Penang. Chef Sam was very friendly and treated our bread loving 2 year old with his famous sourdough rye bread. Hopefully we’ll be back again. Keep up the good work!!
We had the special set lunch and it was amazing! Fine dining served in a quaint cafe at reasonable prices. Sam, the owner is an brilliant chef who takes pride in whipping up tasty dishes and explains everything on the plate to you. Love it!
