Wakeside Grill - Ipswich

Never had bad food at Wakeside. The **** Mary's are excellent. The breakfasts are awesome! They do have problems with staff but doesn't every restaurant? Last time I was there a week ago everything went fine. Great burgers prime. The views can t be beat.

The food was excellent. For an appetizer, we had the chislic and it was the best I've had since moving to SD. My hubs had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with fries. He said it was good (he ate all of it). He also got the Parmesan wings which he wasn't that impressed with, but ate them. They were fried with shredded Parm sprinkled on top, but he was expecting a sauce. I had the 2 Walleye filets (amazingly fresh and I only found 2 bones). I got them blackened and they were so good! I got a salad and wild rice for the sides. The rice was perfectly cooked and there was a delicious roll with it. The service was terrific. We got our food on time, and the waitress kept our drinks filled. The restaurant itself was beautifully situated on Mina Lake. We had a good view of the lake. The restaurant was clean and has tables and booths. The bathroom was also very clean. They would've gotten 5 stars but the wings cost them a star. We'll be back! Great place.

Im giving this place a 5 star for many reasons: one we showed up without reservations in a cold windy day, the bartender was the only person there , we were 26 of us that decided to have lunch together after mom in-law' funeral. The bartender that I regret not getting her name opened the door early for us to keep us out of the cold because they officially open at 3 and we showed up at 2:30 pm . After that she spoke to her manager and made a plan so they could give us their best service ever. The team working that day went beyond our expectations, they kept us hydrated while we waited for our food, They also made sure that we all sat together with a nice lake view. They expedited our orders in a timely fashion, all the food was delicious, I believe there were 3 cooks in the kitchen plus our beloved Bartender, she took all the orders got all the drinks and picked up all our dishes after we finished! She must've been really tired after we left! Some of us are from out of town, but my family and I will for ever return to this place not only for the great food but also and most importantly for the great service, plus we now have a special memory attached to this restaurant! Please support this wonderful business and the people that work there so we continue to come back to them and remember how in a sad cold day a very nice lady warmed not only our bellies, but also our hearts!!

The service is extremely slow! The food is mediocre at best and if you want a mixed drink...Don't bother. There won't be any alcohol in it.

Came in from out of town... Yes, running a bar is tough... Running one in a small town can be brutal. Nice place, clean and u gotta be patient...
