Bidra med feedbackMy experience at Ben's Place was extremely disappointing. The service was lacking, with the waitstaff displaying poor communication both with each other and with customers. When I inquired about a menu item, I was informed it would be served on a tortilla. Unfortunately, our waitress had to consult another staff member who was also cooking, but together they provided us with the wrong information. Instead of a tortilla, the dish arrived on bread, served without a side, and was cold. I found it puzzling that the cook had made such a mistake. Additionally, it took far too long for our waitress to return to our table, and when she finally did, she showed little concern for our issues. The other waitress delivered our incorrect order, and the first waitress failed to take responsibility or show any initiative when we voiced our concerns. The food itself was cold and unappealing. To make matters worse, the staff didn’t offer any compensation for our disappointing experience. We didn’t ask for anything because we felt it should have been offered without us having to bring it up, especially since it was obvious we weren't satisfied. Overall, I would not recommend Ben's Place if you are seeking quality food and service.
Stopped in on Labor Day 2024 and ended up walking in right as they were closing down for the day. They offered to turn the grills and such back on, since it was Labor Day we probably wouldn't be able to find much else. We graciously stayed, talk about hospitality!! The waitress didn't seem super confident, but she was very friendly and nice! Our orders were only slightly mixed up, but we didn't say anything because it really wasn't a huge deal! Everyone ate every morsel of food--it was delicious!! The proprietor came over and chatted with us for a bit, she was incredibly friendly and hilarious!! We ended up staying nearly 2 hours after their closing time, but no one noticed, no one was cranky, no one said anything! We had no idea and didn't get ANY vibes from the staff kicking us out! The kids got ice cream afterwards and it was some of the best we've had! We have a local ice cream shop in our hometown, but dare I say the hand scooped ice cream at Ben's Place is better!! The watermelon sherbet has chunks of watermelon in it!! The perfect way to end summer!! If you're looking for yummy food and friendly staff, this is your place!! Dietary restrictions: My husband and I follow a keto diet (no carbs) and this place has a couple of salad options omelettes and other egg dishes, so we had options!! (We opted for a salad with grilled chicken got crispy chicken) Parking: Street parking, could have problems finding a place close when busy. We had no issues. Kid-friendliness: They had coloring books and crayons on the table right away. Most of the kids meals were $4!! The kids milks did NOT come with lids, so just be aware!
I stopped by on Labor Day and arrived just as they were closing. The staff kindly offered to fire up the grills again, explaining that it would be difficult to find open restaurants on Labor Day. Every team member was exceptionally friendly, and we ended up chatting for nearly two hours after closing time! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for great food and the chance to make some new friends!
Thank you for accommodating us on short notice. The food was fantastic, and it was lovely to chat with you as well. I really enjoy these small-town restaurants; they bring back fond memories of the places my grandparents took me to when I was younger. We appreciate your warmth and hospitality!
The food and service were great! The atmosphere was that of a 50's diner, and it was fantastic! After dinner I enjoyed a chocolate malt! Wonderful!
