Bidra med feedbackWhilst staying in Amlwch we looked for somewhere to have an evening meal. We didn't find a lot of choice without driving too far, so we chose the Adelphi. It is a pub and the locals were in watching the football. We found the place pleasent and we were able to eat our reasonably priced meal in comfort. Our food was served very quickly and hot.
Loved this place so much we never went to any other pub. John is such a lovely gentle giant and mingles with everyone. The doggie is so well behaved and comes out to greet you. It was really busy on Friday evening 8th September. We had a Finneys fish chips from next door but our friends had food from the Adelphi and had pie, mash and minty peas sauce. Omg they were to die for so on Saturday evening we swapped we did an Adelphi pie night and they are Finneys chippy night. Good thing is they both have tables outside so you can sit at either. A couple also arrived after the Adelphi had finished food but the owner said get a chippy tea and either bring it in or sit outside up to you. That to me is such hospitality because he knew he was still getting the custom for drinks. Sunday we drive around the island, Cemaes, Valley, Holyhead, Llangefni, etc and then said Adelphi on the way home with all thumbs up. Thank you ever so much for such lovely wonderful food, ambience and social interaction with customers. Even the local people chatted away with us and made us feel so welcome. This is the first time we’ve stayed in Amlwch but we will be back it was so enjoyable. Also there is a van that comes from the port and shows the catch of the day so the blackboard outside shows what’s available. You can’t get fresher than that. We will be back.
If you're craving traditional meat or veggie pies served with mashed potatoes, gravy, and peas, I would suggest trying the moo less pie. The restaurant only offers pies on their menu, so if you're looking for other options, this may not be the place for you.
We chose this after a long day walking, nice atmosphere, staff friendly. They have a very good choice of beer /ales. We decided to eat there and the menu of speciality pies was the options. My wife is a coeliac, so to have gluten free options and gravy was definitely a big plus for eating here. Good portions sizes and most of all very tasty. (we are Wiganers we know about pies !! A must if visiting the town, great beer and food...highly recommended.
Open mic night last night, we are staying in Amlych Port, after a family Paddleboarding lesson, it was a night having a drink. 8.30 food had stopped, but landlord said, get a chippy take away and eat in pub. Such a great spirit in the Port for the businesses. Drinks were very reasonably and questioned many times that we were not charged enough. Amber the pub’s dog, snuggled up without bothering us and the locals were all so welcoming. Highly recommended
