El Metate - Jackson

I’ve lived in Jackson my entire life, and I’ve never had Huevos Rancheros this good before. It’s an amazing, authentic Spanish breakfast!

While the prices might seem high, you generally don't find a meal that includes 5 enchiladas, rice, beans, and a random side of sour cream for the price. Plus, they have to cover their rental costs in Jackson Hole/Teton Village. They don’t offer ground beef red enchiladas (which I was in the mood for), but I was pleasantly surprised by the green chicken option I chose. They also have a variety of Guaraches, which are always great when cooked in cast iron—they look and smell fantastic. I would have tried them, but I was set on cheese and sauce instead. As for drinks, they mostly serve beer—only Corona and Modelo. A 40oz Corona with a glass to pour it into seems to be quite popular here. The clientele tends to be local and primarily Spanish-speaking, but the servers know enough English to effortlessly accommodate your needs if you're monolingual. Overall, I had a great time!

We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. Our food arrived in under 10 minutes, and it was incredible. The authenticity of the dishes truly stood out.

Service, food and prices were amazing considering the location. We'll be back!

Good food and service. Authentic Mexican. Nothing fancy. Bottled sodas. Several Mexicans eating here. Always a good sign. Red sauce is very hot. Rice was excellent. Large portions.
