Big Pete's Pizzeria - Jacksonville

It’s been a long time since I’ve been a loyal customer to this pizza place. They have been consistent in giving me the best-tasting pizzas from the crust to the cheese and up to the toppings. Even from the overall preparation, everything is clean and their equipment is well-ordered. After the first bite, you can taste the freshly made dough with the perfect amount of butter added. The pizzas vegetable toppings are also fresh and the meat toppings are well-seasoned. The ingredients are of good quality. The cheese is also not too much and too little, it’s perfectly perfect!

The girl behind the counter was nowhere to be seen for the first five to ten minutes, so I sat down to look at the menu. Randomly a guy sitting down in one of the booths, across the room, asks if I was taken care of. Clearly looking like the owner, I politely said I'm okay. I suddenly saw a female stand up from behind the counter and ask if I was ready to order. I ordered their small pizza special with wings. The pizza special was okay but the overall establishment was really poor, that it made me question whether I should have ate their at all. I asked for water, but they had no drinking fountain with water option, so the girl offered tap water, which she went on to get, from what looked like a small portable bathroom sink that was oddly placed behind the counter. The women's restroom was completely out of order. I had way higher expectations since it was down town and a friend of mine said that a lot of people went there from the surrounding area for lunch. The pizza was made fresh, which was fine, but instead of a quick slice which would've only taken 5 minutes to heat up, ended up taking about 20 minutes. I was pressed for time so that was also the reason my friend and I selected this place. I was disappointed by the overall experience. But the pizza wasn't bad, but one would question whether it's safe to eat from a place that seems so unclean and unkempt.

I'm obsessed with her smoothies! I get 1 every day and have eaten most menus. You have some of the best wings ever. As good as Dick's wing, and they deliver! I also love the Calzone and its Indian dishes.

The pizza and wings here is my favorite! Great prices and great lunch specials for professionals working downtown during the week. I have tried most of the items on the menu and the food is always consistent and fresh! I live downtown so Pete's is usually my go-to for last min dinner option. It's a family owned pizzeria, and super laid back. It may be a little too laid back if you're not accustomed to these NYC style neighborhood pizza joints. Great food and Alexis behind the counter is such a doll!

We were staying in the Riverfront Hyatt. It was our last night of a business trip and the kids, who had put up with a lot over 3 days, wanted pizza. Big Pete 's order taker on the phone was lovely polite and friendly and helpful in answering questions from folks who had never been to their place. We ordered a large cheese, a large green onion and pepper and a personal size Buffalo chicken for me. Delivery was made to the lobby, was free and quicker than was quoted. This is the best pizza I have ever had came out of both teens.
