Bidra med feedbackFelt the need to get out of town last night.. so I drove until I ended up in Jamestown. I looked up farm fresh restaurants on Yelp and the National was the first one that popped up. I was only a block away, so I decided why not. I 've recently moved to Coulterville and have yet to try any places in Jamestown. When I walked in I was greeted by the bartender Brian. I ordered the kale salad topped with the tri tip ends and a side of warm olive bread. It was all super yummy but the bread (baked in house) was my favorite! What I appreciated most about my meal, was the conversation I overheard behind me while eating. It was the owner talking to a couple that was dining, and she was talking about how much she cares about the source of her food and what she serves (and charges) the customer. I heard her say that she will NOT buy from foster farms. Neither will I. I put a lot of importance on the quality of my food, so I greatly appreciated hearing that she feels the same! I decided to stay the night in the hotel.. with my dog.. yay for places that allow pets! I took a long hot bath in the bathing room, before crashing out for a good nights rest! I will absolutely be back here and be bringing friends and family too! Thank you National for making quality food a priority! I appreciate that so much!
Stopped in for drinks and appetizers, wish we hadn't. The food and drinks were adequate, although small portions. The service unfortunately was terrible. The order was never correct, despite correcting the staff numerous times. The dinning room was freezing, we asked the staff if they could close an open door that was causing a cold draft and they refused despite us being the only ones in the dining room. Unfriendly, small portions, staff not interested in customer service, skip if you can.
We missed a year but made it this year under new ownership. Our favorite room #7 was just as we remembered, while cocktails, such as the pom-tini, were also as good as before. Fortunately, I reread my last Yelp review, so we ordered the gorgonzola garlic dip, which was as incredible as the last time. Service was great, with the same classic ambiance we have come to expect here.
I had dinner Friday evening here at this restaurant. There was nobody to greet us we stood there for a good 10 minutes still nobody. I went to the bar and the bartender seated us. The waitress was nice but she wasn't informative about what the restaurant had to offer.. we had to ask about the specials on the menu.. The water tasted awful there was a chemical taste.. the salmon was good but the potatoes were over cooked like they had been sitting for a long time could not eat them. The overall experience was not good and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I'm 63 years old and have been eating out since I was 15 and this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. I stopped there with my family on a Friday evening around 6pm. The waitress kept using excuses for the problems in the kitchen. And several parties arrived after us were served and left with no issues. We were there for 2.5 hours and only got a portion of our food and we had to tell them to stop cooking because we head leave. The food that we received was terrible. If the manager has any questions on my experience, he or she can message me. I own a service business and know what good service is, and this was terrible.
