Great pastry, great choco. good place to just sit and people watch, read a newspaper, etc. great location, not far from trains and bus. can really recommend it.

A Jena ho scoperto un ottimo caffè per la colazione. Ho mangiato un delizioso croissant ripieno di cioccolato e una gustosa "treccia" con vaniglia e cioccolato. Il cappuccino era buono. In Germania é difficile trovare un caffè dove fanno i croissant ripieni, ma adesso so che a Jena questo posto c'è. Il locale è pulito e carino. Consigliatissimo!

This is just a small booth in front of the Goethe Galerie. The main location of Carlos P is over by the bus station (cut-through from Grietgasse), and it has a larger selection and small café, but this is a convenient, central place to buy freshly-baked bread and pastries.Carlos P (really: Knut) is a German master baker who likes to travel. Rather than the same old five or 10 items available at every German bakery, Carlos P also sells international classics - focaccia, brioche, French tarts, American brownies... Everything is baked fresh every day. There is also a focus on doing things the traditional way - nothing artificial, no stabilizers, etc.I don't know how many dozens of times I've purchased goodies from Carlos P and each and every one of them has been outstanding. My favorites are the Toscana loaf, with Italian herbs, or the San Francisco sourdough (apparently Jena has a microclimate similar to San Francisco's, and the Carlos P loaf is to die for). In terms of sweets, my favorite is the lemon meringue tart.If you're in town, don't hesitate to stop by the little booth or at the main Carlos P location. You won't be disappointed.

Dies ist kein Restaurant, sondern eine stark frequentierte Bäckerei. Es gibt im Innenraum ca. 10 enge, aber geschmackvolle Sitzgelegenheiten. Das wirklich Gute sind die Backwaren, die von herausragender handwerklicher Qualität sind und mit Liebe und besten Zutaten hergestellt werden. Hier kommt man nicht hier um etwas zu essen, sondern eher um einzukaufen und eventuell ein Kaffee zu trinken und dazu ein Stück von den wundervollen Backwaren zu genießen.
