Herr Rossi - Jena

The café "Rossi" is my favourite coffee shop in Jena because they serve real Italian coffee, the staff is superb friendly and laid back even if I ask for a lactose-free milk and on top of it the coffee is really cheap.The best thing about it is that it is located right behind campus. :) Furthermore, I know that when I go to the coffee shop, it won't take long until I can enjoy tasty Segafredo-Coffee. The best thing about it is that it is located right behind campus. :)The only thing which could be improved is that the furnishing is not as convenient as in other coffee shops in Jena and the shop itself is rather small. If I want to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book, I would choose another coffee shop, as the shop is rather small and at lunch time it can be quite packed.

Ich habe leider sehr (!!!) schlechte Erfahrungen im Rossi gemacht. An der Bar erkundigte ich mich höflich, welche Milch für den Kakao verwendet wird. Die Kellnerin hat mich mit folgender Antwort angeschnauzt: " So einen Diätscheiß haben wir hier nicht. Wenn du was anderes willst, nimm nen Tee!"Anschließend haben die Kellnerinnen den Tagesumsatz so laut in die Kasse gezählt und sich über den sehr hohen Geräuschpegel hinüber angeschrien, dass ein gemütliches Ambiente wirklich gar nicht aufkam... Ich war noch nie in einem so ungemütlichen Café, wo der Service so miserabel und unhöflich war!!! Jedes Bahnhofscafé hat mehr Charme ...

One of the really few bars in Jena where to get a good espresso. Love the Macchiato...served in a glass with a lot of milk foam looks like a "Capo in B" Trieste's style.

Why does Italian coffee taste different? is it the water? the coffee? the machine? the cleaning routines? The friendliness? We don't know. We do know that Rossi is an italian oasis in Jena.
