With some friends of Ancona we venture into this bolgia of voiceful, cheerful and hungry people; confusion at the highest levels! What do you mean? If you want to make two words it is impossible but if you want to eat “90 years” it is extraordinary....

We arrived without a booking on a clearly busy day. The restaurant manager found space to put a table and chairs, had it laid and we were served within minutes with an array of delicious local pasta bucatino, lasagna and boar pappardelle all delicicious. The staff worked like soldiers to serve the dining room and garden that were overflowing with patrons. This is not the smartest, sleakest or shiniest trattoria in Marche, but for an authentic, friendly tasty meal it probably is the best!

Finally had the chance to visit Il Bucatino with some friends again, the food was simple and tasty as usual, prices were moderate, location is like a typical Italian “trattoria” with speedy service. You can’t do wrong by choosing any of the traditional pasta dishes or main course dishes and have a bottle of local simple table wine. Il Bucatino is for sure a great place to have a tasty meal in a simple and traditional location.

We where here with our two children. Very friendly service! Very good pasta! Very popular under locals. A lovely experience!
