Red's Texas Bbq - Johnstown

Stopped by for lunch today. I got the beef brisket plate with red beans rice and sweet potato casserole. The meat was tender, a little pink on the inside, with just a hint of smoke flavor and a nice little crust of seasoning on the edges. The sweet potato casserole was outstanding, moist but not soggy and the pecans were a nice touch. The red beans rice were just hot enough. Great service, too – I got takeout and walked in, placed my order and walked out in maybe five minutes. 5/5, no complaints, I will definitely be back. Glad to have a place like this in Johnstown.

Visited for the first time yesterday. The only things that were said during our meal were “Oh my God!” And “Oh wow!” That’s the best way I️ can describe the food. Downright amazing! Had a chat with the owner after our meal and told him how much we loved it. In fact, we loved it so much I️ came back today to grab us lunch for the second day in a row. Reds is my new favorite spot!

I'm a Memphis girl so BBQ is in my blood! I was so excited to see this place opening! Beef brisket is so tender and just melts in your mouth. The sweet potato casserole is absolute perfection! (Don't tell my grandma) Pulled pork is fantastic! I bought a rack of ribs at lunch time to take home for dinner. The ribs heat up very well in the oven on low and tasted like they had just come off the smoker. I was a complete mess after eating them, but with any great BBQ, it ain't good if you don't have a mess! The service is amazing. Walking in, you are treated like a long time friend! So friendly! Sad to see you closing for the winter, but I'll be there when y'all open in the spring!

My wife and I tried this after reading all of the wonderful reviews. It was absolutely amazing! Chicken was very flavorful, brisket melted in your mouth, baked beans were an excellent side, and sweet potato casserole was absolutely stunning. Great people and fantastic service. So sad that you will be closed over winter seeing as I just discovered you. Please keep doing what your doing. Hands down best bbq I've eaten.

Amazing food and great people! Always a great experience when I stop there. Food is always spot on and delicious especially the pork chops! I'd give 10 stars if I could. Definitely a must try, nice having something fresh and different in this town!
