Granny Shaffer's - Joplin

My husband and I was in Joplin, MO shopping. We come to Joplin a lot!! Passed this restaurant for over 10 years. Always seen the parking lot full. Always was curious!! FINALLY we stopped and went inside. We got greated by a young friendly hostess and seated immediately . I loved the environment. Reminded me of the old mom and pop diners. And talking about good home cooking. It was very good!! I had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. It was amaizing!! Husband had chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and okra. He was very pleased!! So worth the stop. And very affordable. And check out was convenient. If you haven't tried eating there I'd recommend you do. If you leave out hungry, it's your own fault!!

Don't know how they do do it but the fried eggs are ALWAYS perfect!

I've only been here twice because I live 4 and a half hours away. But this is where I eat whenever I am in Joplin. Absolutely delicious food, spot on service with a smile and affordable prices. There is nothing that I do not like about this restaurant! I highly recommend you eat here whether visiting or living in Joplin Missouri! BTW.. The catfish (Crunchy on the outside with lots of white layered catfish meat inside). The picture makes a catfish look small. Believe me when I say it is 8 oz of delicious fish! Onion rings (thinly battered and served with a light crunch that never gets soggy) are to die for! Order it now and thank me later! ?

Love Granny Shaffer's! Well priced and good food, and a large variety of said food. Only downside is there is a smoking section of the restaurant. :
