I ate only during breakfast. Place was crowded like a fish-market, and anything you order, wouldnt come.
We visited Goa to spend Christmas holidays.Since i am a culinary art lover i wanted to explore some restaurants to indulge ourselves with a mouthwatering Seafood experience with a sea view. Well , Barbeque exceeded our expectations... the set up is awesome and elegant.. you pick the platter or the catch of the day fish you want from a nicely presented station overlooking the BBQ station , you can choose how you would like to have it served, for those who are not spices friendly you can pick a butter garlic lemon sauce. Allll so fresh! We picked red snaper , crab , prawns for us and chicken tenders for my daughter, all comes in a sizzling platter presented nicely .. What really makes it unique is its elegance and ambiance : dim lights ... the soothing sound of waves, wooden chairs, grass ... this place opens at 7.30 pm and it gets busy at 9 pm mostly from hotel residents... but you do not have to worry ... the stuff is so friendly and interacts with everyone ensuring you are enjoying your experience.
The shutterbug in me was so thrilled to see the stunning ambience of this restaurant.Pl see the pictures of its inside view…..as many as 30 of them…… Alfama is Portugal's charming old town square located in Lisbon.I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening - that is on 25th Aug 2016. (Was staying in Cidade De Goa from 24 to 27 Aug 2016). Had it been it on the first Tuesday, I would have been lucky enough to enjoy the Fado music. Fado is a very traditional and soul stirring music genre from Portugal which is celebrated on the first Tuesday of every month at the Alfama - paired with wine and a five course dinner.I opted for the Portugese-Goan influenced menu that is typically served for the Fado nights at Alfama. The dishes are prepared using classical cooking techniques and have been blended with Goan flavours. Read on...The salad sat on the Peri Peri Sauce base in a rectangle shaped white plate. It was a fusion salad - grilled eggplant, artichoke, sun dried tomatoes and greens in western style; fused with Goan style- toddy vinegar in cumin dressing and toasted. The Soup was Portuguese - with a Peri Peri croute. Parsley, Carrot and Olive Butter- all three in three different small bowls gave company to the soup. Potatoes and carrots with crispy vegetables - this is the most sought after soup in Portugal during the winters. I liked it.For my mains I opted for two Goan dishes. Semolina coated vegetables and red spinach cake with mango chutney. The other was baby corn chilli fritter served on Poi (Goan sour dough bread). I enjoyed both. The dessert was innovative. The presentation inspired me. It was a ‘three in one’. Red velvet pastry, Mascarpone cheese with the jaggery-coconut based Dodol from Goa - East meets west indeed! The LED lit centrepiece on my table (with as many as 16 colours) was delightful. The display counter flaunted two tile murals which caught my attention. See my pictures. It is again on Alfama. The large painting on Alfama was equally attractive.Very peaceful dinner. The Chefs and Service Staff did everything they could to make sure I enjoyed thoroughly. Very helpful, caring and welcoming staff.
